Problem

A new advertising technology on boarding passes for the airline industry

The client was looking for a new way to increase company revenue. It came to be a new advertising technology: the ability to print ads on boarding passes. The project had several challenges, one of which was high performance and availability of the product. Critical was also the integration of marketing solution into the existing AWS infrastructure.

Previously, the project was developed by an external vendor team.

Euristiq team took over the project from other external vendor and integrated with a client’s team. Our engineers did frontend and backend development, architecture engineering, and integration with payment systems.

We built a fast and intuitive campaign management system that takes minutes to set up a campaign and can run multiple highly targeted campaigns at the same time. It is based on a first-class real-time bidding algorithm that calculates campaign ad rank per boarding pass impression. The new airline advertising solution offers advertisers an opportunity to bid on a primary space on passenger boarding passes.

The result of our collaboration is a high-targeting bidding platform with an admin service and integrated into the existing AWS infrastructure.

The project meets the required performance and availability criteria, and the product is already in the open beta stage.

The campaign management is fast and intuitive, allowing set up in minutes, tweaking live campaigns to increase their performance, and running multiple campaigns at the same time. The targeting includes many parameters to create highly targeted campaigns and increase ROI through the ad relevance. The developed first-class real-time bidding algorithm is comparable to leading RTB networks and calculates campaign ad rank per boarding pass impression. Monitoring and reporting allow tracking the performance of campaigns in real-time using an analytics dashboard with the best performing routes and tracking of the average cost per impression.
