CHALLENGE

Internal management of the investment flow for a financial enterprise

TThe customer, a financial services company, helps investors invest funds into sectors that try to make lives better – sectors that tackle climate change and address inequality. Investors turn to our client with the notion to invest. All their data regarding investments – portfolios, bank accounts, withdrawals – were previously managed in a legacy application that did not correspond to the current needs.

SOLUTION

Investment portfolio management software with a complex logic

The result of our cooperation is a solution that collects information from various sources about investors, products, and portfolios, and minimizes the human factor in information management. It’s a server app with GatewayAPI as its main service. It processes data and redirects it to other services to which it is connected.

This app is an intermediary for financial operations between the financial enterprise that collects all the data about investors and a third-party system that documents all financial transactions. Euristiq developed the part of the functionality that made sure that this data was displayed and synchronized correctly.

Euristiq joined the project of a modernization of the internal legacy app in the middle of the process. We contributed to the development of new features, front-end development, and quality assurance, and also participated in UI/UX design and requirements elaboration.

The investment management tool has the following functions for users: creating the contact of an investor, their portfolio, connecting to the advisor, creating the application to top up the account, adding the investor’s bank account for regular money transfers, etc. Euristiq team developed a new portfolio flow that is more complicated than the previous one. The portfolio contains information about investments, withdrawals, bank accounts, investors, advisors, etc. Each portfolio has the functionality to manage finances using various actions – creating applications of different types and payments, adding and deleting bank accounts, withdrawals, changing investment settings.

Company employees – the app users – have different permissions depending on the functions they perform. The app has an admin panel where settings can be changed, and user permissions can be customized. The system is built in such a way that allows one user to make changes but the other user has to approve them. Users can also track changes, view change history, create payments, view data about advisors and investors, validate information about investors using third-party government services.

BUSINESS OUTCOME

Financial system that manages profiles of over 63,000 investors

The result is an internal investment portfolio management software that brings together all the actions regarding investors and investing for the company’s employees.

A user-friendly investment management platform that helps company employees to manage investors’ portfolios, applications, bank accounts, withdrawals, etc.

In 2021, over 750 of our client’s employees are using the app. The system manages more than £10.6 billion on behalf of over 63,000 investors. These funds are invested in renewable energy, healthcare, smaller companies that drive the economy, and property.
