Family Office Wealth Management Software: from MVP to SaaS

The first Canadian-native family office wealth platform
Mozaiik Wealth Tech Inc. is building the first Canadian-native wealth management platform purpose-built for Investment Counsel firms and Multi-Family Offices managing complex, high-net-worth families. Rather than another portfolio tracker, Mozaiik set out to build a single operating platform for family wealth — every entity, every asset, plus estate, insurance, philanthropy, and deadline management in one place.
Euristiq was brought in as the multi-tenant platform engineering partner to design and build the MVP from scratch — with enterprise-grade security and a SOC 2-aligned architecture built in from day one, and to do it fast enough to meet pending tax and estate-planning deadlines.

The outcomes that mattered to a pre-seed fintech founder building on a deadline:
Canadian-native wealth management platform built around Canadian regulatory requirements
in annual savings for firms switching from US-built platforms
in development costs saved through Euristiq’s AI-native delivery
High-net-worth family wealth,
still managed in spreadsheets
US-built tools, Canadian workflows
Competing platforms are built around US tax law, leaving Canadian firms paying $150K+ per year for tools that require manual workarounds for CDA/GRIP/RDTOH balances, 21-year deemed disposition tracking, and RRSP/TFSA contribution room.
No consolidated, entity-first view
Advisors had no single source of truth across a family’s full entity structure — ownership, assets, liabilities, and net worth lived in disconnected files rather than a purpose-built system of record.
An operating platform, not a tracker
Mozaiik needed more than portfolio tracking: estate, insurance, philanthropy, and deadline management had to live in one place, tied to the right entity and the right family.
Security and speed, together
The MVP had to ship fast to meet pending tax and estate-planning deadlines — while being multi-tenant, enterprise-grade, and SOC 2-aligned from day one, not retrofitted late
We applied our 4D approach
How we built Mozaiik’s family office platform, entity-first on AWS
One consolidated dashboard across the entire family structure
Advisors get a single, real-time picture of a family’s total wealth — across individuals, trusts, holding companies, operating companies, and partnerships. The interactive Wealth Map visualises who owns what across a family’s full entity structure, making complex ownership immediately understandable for advisors and clients alike. Consolidated dashboards show positions, allocations, and net worth aggregated across every entity and account.
Complete asset analytics across every asset class
Mozaiik tracks the full scope of a family’s holdings in one place: public market accounts and portfolio allocations, private holdings, real estate, business interests, and other assets — alongside loans, liabilities, and cash flow. Net worth is visible at the family level, the entity level, and per holder, with automatic flags when valuations go stale so advisors always know where the data stands.
Custodian data feed — Raymond James live
For IC firms with accounts at Raymond James, Mozaiik delivers a daily automated data feed — positions, cash balances, and market values update every day with no manual entry. Advisors can also trigger an on-demand sync at any time. Raymond James-linked accounts flow into the same consolidated dashboard, Wealth Map, and net worth views as every other asset in the system.
The integration also corrected a net-worth calculation that had been understating account values by excluding cash. Cash balances now count toward net worth across all accounts — not just Raymond James-fed ones — giving advisors an accurate picture of total family wealth.
Portfolio management tools built around real client events
Wealth planning for high-net-worth families is driven by life events — estate reviews, insurance renewals, charitable giving, key tax dates. Mozaiik brings these into the platform: insurance tracking, philanthropy management, an estate-planning module, and a Tasks/Key Dates system that keeps advisors ahead of deadlines rather than reacting to them.
Secure document vault with full entity context
Every document — trust deeds, insurance policies, tax returns, shareholder agreements — is stored in a structured vault and linked to the relevant entity, so nothing lives in an email thread or a shared drive folder. Advisors can filter and retrieve documents by entity, family, or document type, with role-based access controls ensuring sensitive files reach only the right people.
Enterprise-grade security, compliance-ready from day one
Mozaiik handles data that advisors and families trust with their most sensitive financial affairs. The platform was designed from the start to support the record-keeping, audit, and data-governance expectations of Canadian-regulated firms — with firm-level data isolation, MFA, role-based access controls, encrypted storage, and a full audit trail. Those foundations position Mozaiik for formal SOC 2 certification as its client base grows.
Agentic AI automation for multi-tenant, financial-grade workloads

A Canadian-native wealth
management platform, delivered in full
On time, on budget, in full scope
All platform modules — from the entity data model and Wealth Map through to planning, document vault, and operational tools — were delivered as scoped. Where client deadlines required it, phases were reprioritised in-flight without disrupting the overall timeline.
Over 40% in development costs saved
AI-native development allowed the full platform to be built well under the original budget estimate — without cutting scope, quality, or the depth of Canadian regulatory support the platform required.
$150K+ in annual savings for switching firms
Canadian IC firms paying for US-built platforms spend over $150K per year on tools that need manual workarounds. Mozaiik removes those workarounds by handling Canadian requirements natively.
Raymond James data feed — live
Positions, cash balances, and market values for Raymond James-custodied accounts now update automatically every day — eliminating manual entry. The integration also corrected a net-worth calculation that was excluding cash from account values, improving accuracy across all accounts on the platform.
SOC 2-aligned architecture from day one
Security controls, data isolation, audit trails, and a staged deployment pipeline were built in from the start — positioning Mozaiik for formal SOC 2 certification as its client base grows.
An ongoing technology partner, not a one-time build
Euristiq is embedded as Mozaiik’s long-term engineering partner — advising on product strategy, roadmap sequencing, and the next phase of platform capabilities beyond MVP delivery.
Product strategy, not just delivery
Euristiq advised releasing early to real users, letting actual customer feedback — not assumptions — drive the roadmap beyond the MVP.

Family office wealth management software: common questions
What is family office wealth management software?
Family office wealth management software is a system of record purpose-built for advisory firms and multi-family offices that manage high-net-worth families across many legal entities — trusts, holding companies, operating companies, and partnerships. Unlike a portfolio tracker, it consolidates a family’s full wealth, maps ownership across entities, and brings estate, insurance, philanthropy, and key-date planning into one place. Mozaiik is a Canadian-native example, built entity-first so complex family structures stay visible and audit-ready instead of scattered across spreadsheets.
What is multi-family office (MFO) software?
Multi-family office (MFO) software is a multi-tenant platform that lets one firm serve many client families while keeping each family’s — and each firm’s — data completely isolated. It gives advisors a consolidated, real-time view of every family’s wealth across entities and asset classes, with role-based access, encrypted document storage, and a full audit trail. Mozaiik enforces this isolation at both the application and database layers, positioning it for formal SOC 2 certification as its client base grows.
Why do Canadian family offices need different software than US firms?
US-built wealth platforms are designed around US tax law, so Canadian advisory firms and family offices pay $150K+ per year for tools that still require manual workarounds. Canadian-specific requirements — CDA, GRIP and RDTOH balances, 21-year deemed disposition tracking, and RRSP/TFSA contribution room — aren’t handled natively. Mozaiik was built Canadian-native from the start, so those requirements live in the data model rather than in a spreadsheet bolted on beside the software.
What is entity-first architecture, and why does it matter for multi-family offices?
Entity-first architecture models each legal entity — trusts, holding companies, operating companies, partnerships — as a first-class object, then maps ownership between them. It matters because high-net-worth families hold wealth across 5 to 15+ entities, and advisors need to see who owns what and roll net worth up across the whole structure. Mozaiik’s interactive Wealth Map visualises this ownership graph, so complex family structures become immediately understandable instead of living in an advisor’s head or a spreadsheet.
What is multi-tenant SaaS in wealth management, and why does it matter for data security?
Multi-tenant SaaS means many firms use one platform while each firm’s data stays completely isolated from every other firm’s. In wealth management this is essential: firms handle their clients’ most sensitive financial affairs and must stay audit-ready at all times. Mozaiik enforces tenant isolation at both the application and database layers, with MFA, role-based access controls, encrypted storage, and a full audit trail — the foundations that position it for formal SOC 2 certification.
What AWS services are used to build a compliant, multi-tenant wealth management platform?
Mozaiik is an AWS Advanced Tier Partner build. Multi-tenant workloads run on Amazon ECS Fargate with tenant-level isolation and automatic scaling; financial data sits in PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS with backups, point-in-time recovery, and a full audit log; documents are encrypted in Amazon S3 and served through time-limited links; credentials live in AWS Secrets Manager; infrastructure is defined as code with AWS CDK; and Amazon CloudWatch provides end-to-end observability. Compliance controls were built in from day one.
Can AI-assisted development meaningfully reduce the cost of building a fintech platform?
Yes. For Mozaiik, AI-native development built the full platform for over 40% less than the original budget estimate — without cutting scope, quality, or the depth of Canadian regulatory support required. AI-assisted workflows accelerate the repetitive parts of engineering — scaffolding, tests, boilerplate, refactors — so senior engineers focus on architecture and domain complexity. The saving is real when paired with disciplined phasing and live client validation, as it was here.
